You may have met a Cancer with a hard-nosed, unfriendly manner. This is a sign ruled by the Moon and as such is governed by the different phases. They get very emotional around the Full Moon and excitable around the New Moon. In between their mood will fluctuate. Like their opposite sign of Capricorn they can be very business-like at work and be a total comedian outside that environment. They also work hard and play hard.
Like all water element signs they can be prone to excesses and have to watch against it. If they are depressed they can use food and drink as comfort and that can damage their waistline making them even more depressed. Obviously it is no surprise that their mood swings make them known as crabby.
If you are in a relationship with a Cancer male or female then be sure you feel the same about their parents as they do. Often the male adores his mother which can be a tough challenge for his wife. The female crab unfortunately can have a difficult relationship with their mother which again can cause problems for her husband. Both male and female are very family orientated and in fact can be stiflingly so with a tendency to be over-protective. They have to try and avoid the smothering type of love that can become their trademark. Both male and femaile need to watch their anger and bouts of jealousy.
Under the hard shell of the crab is a very soft centre which feels emotions strongly. They are also extremely tenacious and have a problem letting go of relationships. Cancer can be prone to living in the past and remembering with rose-tinted glasses. For all of their love of security they can be extremely bad with money although they will always work hard to stay secure and generally bounce back from the brink.
Cancer can be the strong and silent type. They are often very good with their hands and often have a creative streak. This is often displayed in activities such as decorating in the home, dressmaking and of course fixing things. They also have a love of music and many learn to play an instrument. When they are busy doing things they can be quiet and dislike having their attention diverted.
Like all water signs they love watching the ocean and being near water. Many have a love of nature and animals too. Hobbies may involve horse-riding or sailing. Food and drink are also on their list of things they love. In fact some can often have a problem with the latter in the forms of comfort when they are feeling down. For all its hard exterior Cancer is deep down a loving and gentle sign.
