Here is a little bit about the Sun Sign Gemini
MAY 22ND TO JUNE 21ST
Not only is Gemini the first of the Air signs, it is also the first of the Mutable signs. There are four mutable signs (in other words those that are most adaptable and free flowing) Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces). Two, (Gemini and Virgo) are ruled by Mercury, the messenger. Knowledge and learning are something that both these signs are capable of doing throughout their lives. It aids their communication which is something Mercury is, of course, famous for.
Perhaps the reason that Gemini is symbolised by twins comes from their "two sides". They can be the "life and soul of the party" one minute and quiet and sombre the next. Well probably not that fast but you get the picture. In fact because Mercury actually retrogrades three times a year and the influence is felt for Geminis and Virgo up to six weeks each time, it is not surprising that they have their quiet periods! During these phases of Mercury communication, travel and life in general can becoming frustrating for most people but for those born under the sign of Gemini in particular it can be as if they are wading through treacle, their feet glued in place. The more they fight against it, the worse it gets. Whilst most people recover well from the retrograde period, some Geminis suffer for long after and of course it gets bumped into the next one!
On the plus side, to have a friend who is a Gemini can be a wondrous thing. They are usually witty (when in the mood of course) and can lift people's spirits when life gets tough at work. Some people can however find it hard to understand the "flip side" when their normal jovial friend turns morose and quiet. Leave them to their contemplation. They will bounce back and be the happy twin again in no time. Geminis love their freedom almost more than any other sign. It is a necessity. This doesn't mean they do not commit to anything. On the contrary they can be steadfast in their loyalty but you need to let them fly free when the need arises. They won't go far maybe just for a long walk but it is something they need. Remember they are an air sign and we all need that to breath!
