Given that Virgo is actually an earth sign, it is rare to find people under this sign who stay virgins past their teens. A need for cleanliness and neatness is probably a more apt description of the sign. They definitely like things clean and tidy. However, they are often not the ones that like to do the cleaning up! In fact Virgos can be very messy at times. Personal hygiene is far more important. They are quite capable of showering twice a day.
Although they are ruled by the sign of Mercury, they are more grounded than their air sign cousin, Gemini. Therefore their thought processes can be slower and more deliberate. They will take their time over decisions. Virgos have a need to worry about everything! Mercury's influence makes them have a need to keep thinking. Stimulation of the mental kind is an absolute requirement with Virgo. They are also highly critical and can sometimes be intolerant of stupidity.
Where they come into their own is in the service industries. Virgos like to be helpful and therefore make wonderful secretaries, teachers and nurses. Most have a good eye for detail although they could never match their earth cousins Capricorn in that. They can be lazy and skip steps but Mercury gives them the "gift of the gab" and they can usually talk their way out of trouble. Obviously this doesn't always work but physical confrontation of any kind frightens them so they will keep talking as long as they can! This is a sign that actually likes debates and discussions but not if they get heated and out of control. They dislike confrontation and often hide problems rather than making waves. Virgos are prone to eczema and other complaints associated with stress.
Some Virgos can be very demonstrative in love but generally married life can fall into a routine for them. Most Virgos like to feel useful. Although they are an adaptable sign they do find breaking their routines difficult. They like creating efficient systems whether it is in the home or at work.
